Lizzy and Addy were so excited to get together for a playdate recently.  Even though it has been a while since we last saw Addy (now 6.5 years old), it was like the girls were never apart.  It would seem that those two have a special bond.  They had a lot of fun together - however I could not get a good picture since they posed with "silly weird faces" every time I came near!

Dress-up, dancing,,, and crazy faces!

Fun in the "blanket" tent which we set-up in the living room.  Notice the girls made silly faces, but Sam just played with his tools.

Sorry Tim,  I could not help it... I dressed-up Sam in a dress and then took a picture!
I had to, because the girls and Sam all wanted him to wear it!

When we got back to AZ Lizzy and Addy were finally able to get together again and play. Due to busy school schedules and continued illness they went a couple months without getting together.  However, that did not seem to bother them as they right away were playing like the "big and little sister" they think that they are!

Addy and Lizzy were apart for the entire month of July!   They were both in a bit of withdrawl...  Once everyone got back to (hot) AZ, we were able to get together a few times recently to play and to celebrate Lizzy's birthday once everyone came back to (hot) AZ!

Ever since I went back to work in jan 2008 when Lizzy was 5 months old our friend Patty and her now 4.5 year old daughter Addy have watched Lizzy during the work day.  Lizzy is now almost 2 years old, so they have been watching and encouraging Lizzy for so many of hers "firsts."  It is clear to Tim and I that having Lizzy play with Addy all day has really helped shape (and in many ways speed-up) much of Lizzy's development, as Lizzy is always trying to mimic her "big sister" Addy.  Addy often plays "teacher" with Lizzy, asking her to say certian words, perform specific tasks, etc.  I think it has been good for both girls to have this special bond.  Yesterday, my last day of teaching summer classes, was also Lizzy's last day with Patty and Addy - and of course Patty's husband Clay, who we are convinced Lizzy has a crush on...

For the next month or so I will be off from teaching.  For the first part Tim, Lizzy, and I we will escape this AZ heat and head up t othe midwest to enjoy some time with our families.  Then there will be some down time before I go back to work in August.  At that time both Addy and Lizzy will both be moving on to something new - Addy to kindergraten and Lizzy to daycare/preschool.  This is a big move for both the kids and while I am certain it will eventually be a great fit for both of them, I also beleive that there will be a certain level of trepidation and for both families as the past year and a half have been so positive.

Thanks Patty and Addy, we will miss seeing you everyday!

Lizzy and Addy love to play in the inflatable pool during the day.  Here they are cuddling on a lawn chair as they dry off.

Lizzy and Addy missed eachother terribly while we were in MI.  A coulple days after our return to AZ we met up with Patty and Addy at a nearby park.  It was so comical when the girls saw eachother from a distance - they both ran to meet one another and embraced in a big hug.  Here are some cute pictures of them playing at the park.

Last week Addy came by for the morning to play.  Lizzy had a bit of a difficult time sharing her toys, but other than that the girls had a nice time.  Above is a picture of the two playing along with a kid's "work-out" video where Addy and Lizzy pretended to be rowing a boat, the baskets were the boat and the spatulas the ores.  Below is a picture of the two playing Addy's new basketball game.

Lizzy and Addy really are best buds.  Here they play dress-up; Addy is a princess and Lizzy is.... well Addy!

On Eastet, Patty, Clay and Addy came over for dinner.  After the meal the girls and dads played outside and with some games.  When the Fowlers were leaving, a few kids were in the cul-de-sac riding on scotters.  Here is a picture of Addy, with Lizzy in tow, trying to convince them to let her use their scooter.

Twice in the past couple weeks, Addy has come over here while her mom went to an appointment.  The first time Lizzy was very excited and spent the entire time showing Addy her toys.  The next time Lizzy was very possesive and said "mine, mine" every time Addy tried to play with something.  Wonder how Lizzy will be next time?
