Our big boy has a great smile.
July 2011
While on vacation in Vail, Colorado, Sammy loved sitting on the saddle-stool at Piney Lake Ranch.
June 2011
Without a doubt Sam's favorite toys are tools - play tools or Daddy's real tools. Whenever he sees one he says "ool! ool!" and grabs for it. All tools are then either used as a hammer (ie pounded on furniture or the walls...) or as a screw driver. Here Sammy is "fixing" his truck.
May 2011
Recently going out to eat is very challenging with Sammy because he will not sit still long enough for us to order and eat. We tend to have our best luck in the morning for breakfast, so here is Sam at IHOP. Notice that his hand is fuzzy due to him not being able to sit still, but also notice the tower of creamers he built. Shortly after this picture was taken one of those creamers exploded...
April 2011
This is the perfect picture to show Sam's personality; full of motion and always making a mess - but with a smile on his face! here was just finished decorating paper eggs for Easter. He loved painting, but made a big mess. When I went to take the picture he pulled up his shirt to show off his favorite asset - his BELLY!
March 2011 - 18 months old!
At 18 months old Sammy is all energy, and for lack of a better description, ALL BOY! He is always doing and exploring. He loves to climb, play with trucks, knock down blocks, and play with anything that moves or makes noise. His speech has improved a lot in the past month, and he is adding new words to his vocabulary every day. He knows quite a few words, and most of them are enunciated quite well (however, some require a bit of imagination). Here are some of his best words: Mama, Dada, "Zizzy," Haley (our dog), bubble,, apple, wawa (water), up, down, more, done, shoe, sock, jeep, baby. He understands pretty much everything and follows simple directions quite well. He has a wonderful personality and is all smiles - except for his teething issues. The boy still only has 6 teeth. However, from the swelling in his mouth and the constant gnawing and drooling, it is quite clear the other six are trying to all arrive at once. This makes for some rough moments (especially in the middle of the night...)!
Sammy is a BIG BOY - he is wearing 2T pants and 3T shirts. At his 18 month appointment he was again off the charts: height 35 inches and weight 30 lbs 10 oz. (FYI: at 2 years old Lizzy was 36 inches tall and weighed 29 pounds....) We love every cuddly chubby inch of him!

Sammy is so inquisitive. Here he found another possible spot for trouble!
December 2010
This is a picture of our smiling boy - taken by Lizzy!
November 2010
Sam has found a new obsession! His favorite toys are adult brooms, mops, dustpan, etc - anything big and dangerous to our breakables!
October 2010
Sammy wore a giraffe costume for Halloween. This is the same outfit Lizzy wore last year for trick-or-treating (i.e when she was two!)
September 2010 - 1 year old!!!
Sam turned 1 year old this month! As you can see he really loved his chocolate cake! He is a bid boy and weighs 27.5 pounds (95th percentile and is 33.5 inches long ( >97th percentile). This means that he is 2.5 inches shorter and 1.5 pounds smaller than Lizzy at TWO years old! So, yes, he is a BIG boy - but we love every inch of him!
Aug 2010 - 11 months old
Only three days after turning 11 months Sammy started walking. He improved quite quickly and now he is getting into trouble much more often!
July 2010 - 10 months old
Sammy finally has a tooth! He is such a fun little boy.

Now that he can crawl Sammy is all trouble...

Sammy is "all boy." He loves trucks and anything loud. He is able to sit very well and can roll well both ways. However, he is not able to pull himself up to a sitting or standing position and is not yet attempting to crawl. He seems quite content simply sitting and playing with toys.

Sammy is now 6 months old and really starting to show his personality. He is very "talkative" and is always entertaining us with his "stories." He tends to be in a really good mood or a really bad mood - there is no in between. At his 6 months appointment Sammy was 28' long (90 - 95th percentile) and weighed 20 pounds 10 ounces (85 - 90th percentile).

Sammy is a happy baby - as long as he is well rested! The past few weeks have been a bit hard for Sammy and Mommy as Sammy has a cold which forces him awake coughing. He has gone from sleeping 6-8 hrs at night without waking up, to only 2-3 hours! This is not doing wonders for Mommy's health, but Sammy still seems to be growing well, as at his 4 month appointment he was 27 inches long (90th percentile) and weighed 17 pound 13 ounces (90th percentile).

Sammy is much more alert these days. He often is smiling and is constantly cooing and "talking". He talks much more than Lizzy did at this age. This make us nervous for Sammy at 2 years old as currently Lizzy is a big talker!

Sammy is starting to stay awake long enough for us to take a few pictures with his eyes open. However, after about 15 minutes of being awake he starts to get grumpy and we need to start soothing him to sleep. While he enjoys sleeping, he still wakes-up every 3 hours to eat. At his one month appointment Samuel was 23.5 inches long (95th percentile) and weighed 11 lbs 7 oz (95th percentile)
